PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Construction Electrician certificate program covers the basic concepts of safety, code electrical construction and maintenance. Basic skills learned include:
- Commercial-type wiring methods
- Polyphase systems
- Power distribution systems
- Industrial electronics
- Introduction to rotation electrical equipment
CAREER EXPECTATIONS
Graduates will be well prepared to enter the trade as apprentices. As an apprentice you will learn to:
- Install, maintain and repair equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial establishments
- Install, connect, and test electrical wiring systems for light, heat, and power
